My step-dad's a fireman, so that's why I've been to the Hall of Flame Museum. But even if he wasn't one, I still think it's a good place to go if you're interested in firefighting memorabilia or to at least pay your respects to those who have died in the line of duty.
The museum has a section where a full-size horse statue was created to honor the firemen and policemen who died in the September 11 attacks. It's a sobering exhibit, but necessary to see.
Other parts of the museum contain old fire engines, statues, fire helmets from different eras and much more. There is almost an acre of fire related items to see, so plan of spending a little time there to get it all in. And while the museum may not be what you'd call a rousing good time, it's still nice to go to honor the men and women who are in this profession.
