| - I just had the worst customer service experience at Things Remembered at the Fairview Mall location in North York, ON. I had gotten a pen and pencil set engraved with my boyfriend's name on it, and I had wanted it done in the font Vanessa. I went over there to pick up my items after a few hours of purchasing it, and the sales associate showed me the final product. I noticed that it was done in the font Times instead, and had pointed it out that I had wanted it done in Vanessa. The sales associate questions my decision and he and the manager beside him both tried to convince me and repeatedly said that if the person receiving it is a boy he would like Times better. ... Their tone of voice was also very rude, negative, and very passive aggressive. They said that if I want it redone they can, but it won't be done by tonight, and that I would have to come back the next day. I have no problem with this as my boyfriend's birthday is in a week, but just a matter of inconvenience. I stood there for about five minutes deciding what I should do but also feeling very disrespected. It was their fault, but they did not even apologize for their mistake, and did not even sympathize with me, and made me feel like I was an inconvenience as they had to redo it.
I was very unhappy about the way they tried to "fix this problem". When they repeatedly said that my boyfriend would like the Times better, I told them, I don't think you know what he likes and to be honest I wanted it done in Vanessa because we do caligraphy together and cursive is the font we like.
If they had said sorry and voice their opinion on what they think my boyfriend would like.... maybe I would have been convinced. But to repeatedly tell me it the way they did just because they are lazy and don't want to waste their effort..? For a company that specializes in customisation, to sell me on a product that I clearly did not ask for, is just plain and simple ridiculous.
This is one of the worst customer service experiences I've personally had to deal with in my entire life, and will never shop at this location ever ever again. So disappointed, and lost all respect for the employees there.
