| - I needed to review this place because my experience was very poor in terms of customer service and general ambience. Here's the narrative: I had an urgent need for medical imaging (ultrasound), and I could not wait for the public system. So I decided to spend the $450 for the private clinic. I called VM-Med and the phone attendant booked me an appointment for 3pm the next day. I arrived, and the receptionists seemed to sort of look through me; they took my money right away and then sent me to a waiting room. I waited for about 1.5 hours - one of the longest waits I've ever had at a clinic, private or public, with no heads-up about this. I had assumed that since I was paying a large sum, the treatment would be better, but it was much worse. After this wait (during which I asked at several moments when I'd be seen, to no avail), the appointment itself was very brief. The doctor was fine but somewhat jokey and informal. The conditions were also unsavory - the bathrooms were small and very dirty. Overall, a highly unsatisfactory visit. I told the receptionist that the wait was much longer than advised, and I'd had to rearrange childcare logistics because I couldn't pick up my infant. She offered some sympathetic words (too little, too late!). If only they had informed me ahead of time of the long wait at any point during the visit - that would have changed things. But the people working there were brusque and unfriendly on the whole. I think that they were preying on my desperation to get this treatment quickly. The waiting room was full of other people waiting seemingly for hours - a depressing place with little patient support from the cavalier staff.
