I was looking for a hairdresser in Phoenix and tried Gary after reading Yelp reviews. I wanted my blonde highlights refreshed and the same haircut. But I ended up a brunette with a "new" haircut that Gary said I would like because it was "more even." He's a nice guy, but I was very unhappy. I discussed what went wrong with him a few days later. He admitted that due to inattentiveness, he had left the foils in my hair too long. Then he tried to correct it with toner. (As he did this, he did not communicate what he was doing and why.) The result was not what he wanted, so he put an even darker toner on, which gave me brown hair. In our subsequent phone call, he offered to use color remover to strip out the brown. Since my hair is very fine, I checked with my prior hairdresser in L.A., who advised not to do that. In addition, he changed my haircut--I'm still not sure why even after asking him why he gave me a "more even" cut. I'm going to L.A. to my old hairdresser to get my cut and color back so that I can show whomever I try next in Phoenix the cut and color I want.
