  • Dr. Elliot is actually what made this place get four stars. Last week (10/16/12) my wife woke me up around 2:30 pm (I work nights) saying something was wrong with our 14 year old cat Griffon. We decided it was time to let Griffon go and be out of pain. We called this vet and got an appointment with in a hour. We got there and the place was pretty full. We did not get sent back to the room till about 4 pm. (which was the same room we had my wife's dog Pepper put to sleep in last year, it was not a good experience.) We wanted to have a line put in and have Griff sedated. Dr Elliot came and talked to us, and said for cats she usually does not do lines and sedation due to their small viens (it was a bladder problem, so I also assume my cat was dehydrated which does not help with inserting lines). My wife got upset, but in the end we were able to decide on no line and just a needle with the solution in it. Before we that, they took her and weighed her and brought Griffon back. By this time Griff seemed relaxed and was purring. They gave us some time alone with her, and she purred the whole time. It is like she knew we were letting her out of her pain, she was at ease. Dr Elliot came in and with the vet tech they put Griff on one side, and Dr Elliot tried her hind leg but Griff moved and she was not able to get the solution injected. They gave us a few more minutes and came back and tried again. (now Griff hated to be held so there was protests but nothing major). This time my wife petted her head, the vet tech held her by the scruff and I pinned Griff's body down and her front paw and Dr Elliot held her back feet. The procedure was done in less than a minute. Griff passed very fast with only talking, no protests. She was purring till the end. Dr Elliot was compassionate and caring. You can tell she does this because she truly loves animals. If we should have any need of a vet while we still live in this area, we will be calling and asking for Dr Elliot.
