  • I wanted to like this place. I love wine! I love wineries! It was my friend's bachelorette party! The place is beautiful. The weather was unseasonably warm, so although we enjoyed a bottle of wine outside, the outdoor patio wasn't open yet since it's early March. However, they had picnic benches outside that were nice to sit at and enjoy a wine. The wine is inexpensive but I was not that impressed with it. Maybe it was just the women who was doing our wine tasting, but she could not have less personality. When I asked her to explain a wine or suggest one she pointed to the menu. I know there's a ten word summary of each wine, but I like to know a little more about my wines. Whatever. The wines I tired were too sweet for my taste. I would have liked more than three different wines to sample before making my bottle selection. But that's okay. Even though we had a reservation we had to wait awhile. That's when we went outside, which was fine. When our table was ready they sat us in the dining room. It was so loud in there! The wait staff was nice enough to move us upstairs. They didn't give us a hard time about the move and it was much quieter up there. Up there we could hear ourselves talk, always a plus at a place as serene as a winery. We had two opened bottles from outside when we sat upstairs. The first waitress said she would get us glasses. About 15 mins later our waitress was still MIA. We flagged down another waitress to get us glasses. No where to be found. We ended up having to walk into the kitchen to get glasses. As for the food, I can't really comment on it. I have celiac disease so I can't have gluten. I didn't expect the restaurant to have a gluten-free menu, but the waitress was clueless.She told me I could order certain things but I'd have to hold the rice. When I told her that rice was gluten free, she said I could order something else but hold the potatoes. When I told her that potatoes were gluten free she said I could get a plate of "steamed rice or potatoes then." Umm.. made no sense. It's okay if she didn't know but I wish she had asked someone who did. I ended up just getting a salad with grilled chicken and shrimp. It was okay but not worth $15. Everyone else liked their food. If I was local I might give it another shot. Or maybe just go there and buy a bottle of wine and sit outside on a nice day. Ehhh or maybe I'd just skip it all together.
