When i first tasted a La Rocca cake i was hooked. And when i heard they opened a stand alone store on Elgin mills i had to go and check it out. The setup of the place is very unique, open concept where you can actually see the pastry chefs do their magic. They have a glass showcase to show off these beautifully made desserts. They also sell coffee in the restaurant, which goes perfectly with the desserts. We ordered the hazelnut cube, la cioccolatina, cotton candy macaroons, double espresso and cappuccino.
Hazelnut cube: was very rich and smooth. The hazelnut mousse just melts in your mouth, and there is a little almond biscuit hidden underneath the cube. It wasnt too sweet just right.
La Cioccolatina: just imagine their famous Truffle Royale cake but in a very elegant presentation but same flavour profile.
Cotton candy macaroon: just wanted to get a unique flavour. Just your typical macaroon
Double espresso: i needed a little pick me upper and this did the trick. Good espresso
Cappuccino: this really paired well with our desserts, satisfied both our sweet tooth and caffine craving.
Overall this place is awesome. There are so many different desserts you can try, and it seems like they do seasonal desserts too. So the options are endless. If you love La Rocca cakes like i do, this is a place you have to check out
