| - People, know before you book that the Delano is at the far end of the Strip and is a small boutique hotel. All hotels add on a resort fee; that's pretty standard. The Delano does have its own entrance and registration desk apart from the Mandalay Bay; the beauty in that is one doesn't have to journey a mile to the lobby to get a taxi nor to fight past the casino crowds and gaming tables!
With that being said, I simply loved this place. Contemporary room, large comfy king bed, fluffy pillows, a separate sitting room, fully stocked mini bar, good wifi, 3 large flat screen TV's (actually a smaller one in the bathroom). Didn't bother me one bit that I had a view of the parking lot since I'm not in the habit of staying in Vegas to stare out of my hotel window ~ if you want a view of the Strip, then head on up to the Foundation Room! Great view of the entire strip, good for drinks and people watching! Our room rate for the Labor Day weekend was quite reasonable. The Delano lobby bar was trendy, but could have been better if it offered small plates or better bar snacks instead of stale toffee peanuts (just sayin). I could easily give Delano 5 stars, but for room service, hubby's bone in ham and eggs and hash browns were burnt to a crisp (didn't want to wait to reorder) my boring plain toasted bagel was a bit on the cold side and not crisp, lox was okay, but overall lacking and uninspiring in presentation~ for $85, it could have been way better, perhaps a selection of bagels along with cream cheese that didn't come in tin foil. I'd stay at the Delano again, but Id know better not to order room service!
