I was having some health issues & I decided to finally see a doctor about it. My wife found me this doctor and I made an appointment. When I walked in I checked in with the front desk. The lady in the front had a bunch of ID's all over her desk. To me, that's a violation of HIPPA. Anybody could easily read that information, it seems like their patients information was not confidential. Then the lady asked me for my social security number and I've never once heard of giving my social security number to any doctors office. I gave her my insurance card and my ID so it shows the policy number right there for the verification of who owns the insurance. She told me I HAD to. I still denied. Then she told me fine, give me the last 4 of your social & I even denied that. She finally agreed I didn't have to give it to her. After all of that, she told me I HAD to get a full physical. All I went in for was blood work. I didn't ask for a physical. To me, that should be my decision. I just didn't feel comfortable being in that office anymore so I told her nicely, ma'am thank you for your time I will have to pass up on this, have a great day.
