| - PROS OUTWEIGH CONS - here's why:
Like many others I found myself between homes. On the one hand I couldn't pay much, on the other I didn't want to be surrounded by drugs and bugs either. Siegal Suites has such a bad reputation I wouldn't even try it. Local friends told me Town & Country has gone downhill. The Suites has 2 locations on Boulder Highway. I went to the larger first - the room they showed me was shabby and felt dirty. I left and went up the block to their smaller property. I'm still waiting for my home to be ready, and have been here a month.
PROS:
The staff is professional, competent, friendly and helpful
The layout is well done with a bedroom living area, dining area kitchen and a large bathroom. I don't feel cramped at all. There are two large windows.
My suite is clean, the toilet looks brand new, I walk barefoot on the carpet and my feet don't get dirty.
The kitchen has a full size refrigerator that is spotless
The sinks in both the bathroom and kitchen are large
The storage, cupboard and closet space is spacious
The air conditioner works better than I had at the Palace Station Hotel, the day before I checked in here.
I saw two bugs the first week I was here, they sent a maintenance man to spray, followed two days later by a professional exterminator. Haven't seen a bug since.
The TV is not glamorous, but it works and premium channels like HBO, Showtime, etc are included
I find it quiet about 90% of the time. I'm located in a corner room of a courtyard, right off a parking area.
The location is very convenient. Walmart SuperCenter, Sam's Town, fast food stores galore are 1-3 minutes away, another 7 to 15 minutes to get anywhere on the strip or places like the Galleria Mall
CONS:
The tub, walls, cupboards, countertops, cabinets, etc could all use replacing. They may be clean, but shabby chic it is not.
The sofa, while large enough to hold 3-4 people has seen better days and could use some new springs. Surprisingly, the fabric is not worn and is in good condition.
The bedroom could use a 2nd bedside table and lamp to light the room better at night
About 10% of the time there is noise. It can be someone screaming from the ground floor up to someone on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Or it can be someone who's had too much to drink, and sometimes it can be people fighting with each other. I come from New York City. I'm a senior citizen, I keep to myself, and none of this phases me. They screen people carefully before checking them in, and I find security here is fast and efficient. Police are called if needed (to my knowledge 2 times in the month I've been here) Pay more money to stay elsewhere if you think you can't deal with this inconvenience.
