Salt River Tubing was so much fun for my boyfriend and me! We went the second to last weekend of the season and we had an absolute blast. I've heard about the Salt River Tubing for a few years now and I always chalked it up to being an over-hyped drunk college kid hang out but if you do it right, you can have an amazing experience! We got there when it first opened (only 2 other cars in the parking lot at 9am) and went down to Point 1. It has the best views to offer, and three class 1 rapids before you get to point 2. We were going to go the entire way at first, but decided that we wanted to cut our day short. The bus shuttle service is amazing and the bus drivers were really great. The pricing is great considering the bus ride is included.
The river was really relaxing and we got to see some great wildlife. Make sure you pack sunscreen, bug repellant, and lots of water. We brought a cooler with snacks and sandwiches but next time we're just going to bring water and get something to eat after. Don't take any valuables or things you don't want to lose into the water with you. I took my phone in a waterproof bag but I would probably not take it again.
Make sure you watch the roads when you're driving thru Tonto National Forest. There are a lot of wild horses that roam there. They are amazing and beautiful creatures and I'm so glad we got to see them during our trip.
