  • We stayed here last weekend because we were attending the LEGO KidsFest at the Charlotte Convention Center on Saturday (2/20/16) and Sunday (2/21/16). This was the best hotel experience we've ever had and we have stayed at a lot hotels being that we travel frequently. First let me say that the staff was incredible, the room was awesome and the breakfast was so amazing that it's hard to describe in words other than, we could have eaten breakfast all day from their breakfast bar. We did experience two minor hiccups: 1) Our toilet became clogged, so I called to the front desk for a plunger which arrived only moments after the call was made. I tried for 30 minutes to get it unstopped to no avail. We gave it some time to let the water drain and then my wife tried flushing it (big mistake); it overflowed something fierce. Called the front desk again and the hotel manager came up himself; he said that he would try to unclog it and if it didn't work he would move us to another room and provide a room comp for our trouble. He was successful in unclogging the toilet and then he proceeded to mop and sanitize our bathroom floor. I told him that I hadn't expected the hotel manager to come up and his reply was that the maintenance man was on break for another ten minutes when we called and he didn't want to make us wait that long. Talk about service - WOW! 2) The free internet speed was great during the day, but the connection speed dropped severely during the evening and nighttime hours. There is an option that the hotel gives you to purchase a 3x faster internet speed for $6.95. I thought that this was a more than reasonable price, so I paid the $7 bucks and streamed movies on my laptop while surfing the web on my netbook at the same time and had no other problems. We are so pleased with our stay here that we're actually trying to find what else there is to do in Charlotte, NC so that we can stay there again (if for no other reason than there breakfast; of which I should also point out that they are rated an 'A' or 94% for food service by the NC State Health Inspector). I would highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Charlotte, NC.
