  • i've always loved going to Tempe Beach Park. today i decided bring my dog here for her first time (and my first time in a long long time). however i was sadly disappointed. this place is seriously in need of repair. it's dingey and broke down. for being right next to a lake, the grass is incredibly dried out. there are several street lights that line the sidewalks inside the park, they are all faded and one is even missing completely! the concrete base and the iron bolts on the bottom are there but the pole is gone! it just stands out to me. there are 2 sets of restrooms that are inoperable and have been replaced by newer ones, but they still remain in the park, unused. what a big eyesore! also i wonder why there aren't more paddle boat and kayak/canoe rentals around there? i wanted to take my dog on a paddle boat, but they had a sign that said 'no dogs' :(
