| - I found a discount code when booking our room, but don't think I would stay at the Palms Casino Resort for the full price as listed on the website.
The Palms Casino Resort used to be the place that everyone wanted to go to stay & party. Unfortunately, during my most recent trip to the Palms, I quickly noticed that everything had changed. Although the rooms are beautiful and spacious, the casino floor is relatively empty and low energy. I remember having to wait in long lines outside of the Palms just to catch a cab, but we walked out at 10:30PM on a Saturday night straight into a cab.
I was very bummed to find that Moon had closed. It was one of my all time favorite clubs in Las Vegas. One of the employees mentioned that it was being renovated but that there was no time table for the club to be re-opened.
I couldn't believe that there was no line for Rain, only to learn that the club is also permanently closed. The only real nightlife option is the Ghostbar, and I have to say I had only been there one other time as Rain and Moon were much better choices.
The vibe at Ghostbar was interesting. There were some grumpy bartenders inside, some great energy bartenders outside. To one side of the bar, there was a group of 60 year old people at a table having the time of their lives. Outside, people were just standing around and chatting, no one was really dancing. About 75% of the VIP tables were empty with random people sitting down because they were drunk or their feet hurt. The view is still just as amazing as I remember it, but it was hard to stay in there for too long without feeling a little sad. Especially when you can look across at the empty Moon club in the other tower.
I have to admit that the concierge was really great and helpful. Super friendly and never made us feel like we were asking too many questions. Most of the staff I interacted with were so nice, but the resort itself just had a vibe of sadness.
