I purchased a new Honda mower from J and D. When I got the mower home I checked it over and found that the oil level was not registering on the dip stick. I added about 4-5 ounces of oil to bring the level up to full on the dipstick. I contacted J and D, they asked the person who assembled the mower and he stated that he installed the correct amount of oil. The mower operated fine for about a month then the blade started to scrape the side of the deck. I returned to J and D for repair under the warranty. They said I must have hit something with the blade and charged $37.00 to adjust the cutting blade. I advised the employee that I did not hit anything, but my comment fell on deaf ears. On both visits to the shop, the employees seemed reluctant to help me load the mower in my vehicle.
The Honda mower is an excellent mower and is running fine, but I would not return to J & D Lawn and Tractor Sales for sales or service.
