| - My boyfriend loves magic and he loves Mac King (after he saw one youtube video). After some cajoling (and the awesome yelp deal!), we decided to spend our Saturday afternoon with Mac. In one sentence: a magical (heheh), fun experience totally worth the cost of admission.
Mac King himself seems to be such a nice person. He made some self-deprecating jokes about getting his contract renewed even though there weren't that many people at his shows (indeed, the place was probably at best half full), but I totally don't understand why he isn't more popular. Sure, he isn't as gaudy nor his show as "professional" as some of the other magic shows on the strip. However Mac King is authentic - it felt more like sitting in a bar in your neighborhood with friends, watching some awesome, mind-blowing tricks rather than how it feels to attend one of the more "sophisticated" shows with fancier effects and less corny humor. That's not to say his tricks were lacking, Mac King did really awesome things and while I won't spoil them, I literally could not figure out how any of them happened and laughed the entire time as well.
Out of my entire Las Vegas experience of buffets, casinos, drinks, etc. - I didn't find a better, more genuine time than at Mac King's show. I'd really recommend going on a Saturday afternoon!!!!! Way better than gambling away your money or spending it on expensive drinks.
