I decided that today would be my "I Love Myself" Day, so I scheduled myself for a slew of self-loving activities. The first on the list was a hot stone massage at Eden Therapy and Massage. I chose this location after reading the reviews on YELP!
The parking around the building was a bit difficult, given that it was about lunch time when I went for my massage and some people just not knowing how to park. After I found a spot, I walked into the building (which actually does look more like a store than a parlor) and was immediately greeted by the gentleman at the front desk. The lobby area has a relaxing bamboo green and dark leather look to set the soothing mood and there are some magazines/articles from OM Magazine and other yoga/massage/relaxing related periodicals.
I was given a form to fill out, because it was my first time visiting Eden. I wasn't even in the building for five minutes before I was in my room, getting a quick rundown of the massage with Jennifer and disrobing. I LOVED the quickstart. That leaves more time for the massage.
Favorites: The heated massage table (because I am anemic and get cold if the wind blows too hard); the low lighting and the soft music; the warm blankets; the slightly hot stones that melted my stress away and that lotion that smelled so good and didn't irritate my skin.
Jennifer did an excellent job and I could have easily fallen asleep. She focused on my stressed areas of my back and neck and the stones were absolute magic. She did a great job and she made me very comfortable.
This place was much better than Massage Envy or any other of those membership massage parlors. There is no push to sign up for anything and the bottle of water (even if it is Deer Park :-P ) is a nice final touch. AND!!! After you pay, there is a $10 off coupon on your receipt if you come back within a month, which I plan on doing.
