| - While this isn't my favorite of the LA Fitness facilities, it's close to where I work and I get done at noon, so lunch time is a prime time to work out. I have yet to wait for a machine, like some other reviewers have mentioned. Also like other reviewers have mentioned, it could use a deep clean. I know, it's a gym, and gyms smell, but I haven't seen anyone cleaning (the one I like on McKnight always has maintenance staff cleaning when I'm there). Trash is usually an issue and the cleaning solution provided to wipe down equipment after you're done always looks precariously low.
I can't comment on the showers as I'm terrified to shower in a public facility that is meh on the standards, but the bathrooms always smell like bleach so I suppose that part is at least clean. The lockers could use a good wipe-out as well. It's not like they rent them and no one can get to them; it clearly says all lockers will be cleared out at the end of the day.
The weight area upstairs is intimidating to me. I'm a 5-foot-nothing girl, and the second I set foot up there, I'm met with "What are you doing up here with us manly men," and "Ooh, eye candy," looks, neither of which I want while I'm trying not think about how many reps are "enough" before I run back downstairs. If you want to do some mat exercises, stick to the downstairs multipurpose room and the mats in the corners.
Bottom line: it gets the job done, but that's about it.
