| - I love car dealerships...said no one EVER.
There really is a reason why people absolutely loathe the process of buying a car; it's the comical nonsense we all deal with when sitting down and attempting to iron out a deal.
Pat, the salesperson who helped us, was helpful for the most part.
Very informative and seemed to know the vehicle we were interested in.
Took us on a test drive, etc.
Gave me some tasty popcorn when she saw me staring at the popper (I sure do appreciate hot popcorn by the way).
She was chatty and nice and seemed to just be relaying messages for the most part.
It all went downhill when we sat down and we got that insanely funny rundown of dealership nonsense. She would leave her desk to talk to, I guess the finance people (maybe the Wizard of Oz, I don't know). She'd come with some questions and requests from the mysterious "them".
"If we do this, and this, and then this...sign here and tell me you'll buy the car today" but the signature doesn't mean anything. Um..so why are you asking me to sign??
While we run your credit..They'd like your debit card to hold onto to, but we wont run anything on it.SO WHY are asking me for my card??? What methods are these???
We'll get you this car, in this color, it's in our lot..just an hour away! I see it here, on my screen!
But person #2 then #3 suddenly tell me it's at another dealership . Perhaps sharing the same story with each other would make it a little more believable folks.
I don't waste my time going to car dealerships for fun. I have a family, a job, responsibilities.
It's these tire me out, wait me out, they'll get so tired they'll just buy the car tactics that are absolutely AWFUL, awful, AWFUL!!!
Then we say there is no way we are buying a car same day. Huge decision, a ton of money, we'll sleep on it. This isn't part of a trick on our part. We want to think about it. It's a big deal. We don't need to talk to your final deal maker. That is not what we want. we make an appointment for the following day, to see the mysterious car, from that storage lot, or maybe it was another dealer or maybe the planet Mars, and guess what? We are left sitting AGAIN, for 20 min, and the car is there maybe?? No one has a key? It's not even the same model with the same features?! Nope, sorry. I can't, can't waste any more of my time on this nonsense.
Also, note to the office staff. Place a note on your popcorn machine that says "do not handle with bare hands" so that you don't have to dump your popcorn every single time some gross client grabs handfuls of popcorn because they don't see the scoop. You'll save yourself a ton of popcorn.
