| - I have two questions.
Why haven't I been frequenting this place that is so close to my home?
And why weren't all the tables filled on a Saturday night?
My husband and I used to love coming here when Philosopher's Stone was Bayou Kitchen. When the restaurant name changed, we visited once for lunch and never returned. Can't remember why.
The decor is still roughly the same, and I am ok with that. It is located in a rustic old building that doesn't need to be Charlotized.
I ordered the zucchini casserole, which was baked in a croissant crust. It came with two sides. I chose coleslaw and fries, because I was craving them. My husband ordered string cheese tortellini with blackened shrimp.
I was not prepared for the awesomeness that slid into my mouth. Genius idea to make the zucchini casserole into a fork and knife sandwich. The coleslaw was not overly mayonaised. And the fries? Perfectly seasoned and fever-hot right out of the kitchen. My husband's dish was good as well, but, I liked mine better.
So, the next time that we are looking for a nicely priced, delicious meal in the neighborhood, I am going to suggest Philosopher's Stone. And, I am going to tell everybody that I know how good it is. Then, maybe those tables will be full on a Saturday night.
