I like the way this hotel stubbornly clings to dignity in a land of clanging slot machines and obnoxious themes. The theme here is the word, THE, which we should all know translates to slick, cold minimalism. Awesome.
All the rooms are suites, very appealingly furnished (if a little lacking in personality), and amenities from shampoo to fuzzy slippers are top quality.
I especially liked the bathroom. Given a night partying way over my head with some natives, I appreciated the coolness of the marble floor and elegance of the shower when it came time to involuntarily rid myself of toxins. Had my wits been more about me, I would have turned on the IN-BATHROOM FLAT SCREEN TV to help pass the time. The flattering bathroom lighting* also came in handy the next day when I discovered that not only was I hungover, but that a flu shot from a few days prior had landed me with a full-blown eruption of some freak-engineered version of the virus. I much preferred whining and refusing to move in the very plush, all-down hug that was THEhotel's luxury bedding, over my own bed back home or the overcrowded delay-heavy Las Vegas airport.
*Minus the magnified cosmetic mirror. Ahhhh!
