| - Word of mouth has lead me to many great dining establishments all over the valley. Tonight, I got to share one of those discoveries with my oldest son. A former co-worker introduced me to Baby Kay's Cajun Kitchen a little over a year ago. Since then, I've been back a few times to enjoy the authentic Creole cuisine.
Like me, my son has an adventurous interest in food, so I knew he would enjoy something different for dinner. We started with the Baby Kay's Sampler. This was a huge portion of deep fried goodness! It includes fries, fried oysters, fried shrimp, hush puppies, jalapeƱo poppers and fried catfish. Awesome variety! And considering it's a fried appetizer, you can still taste the quality of the product.
My son made a great selection for his entree. He loved (and devoured) his Pulled Pork Po' Boy. I told him it would be stuffed. And he wasn't disappointed. I've enjoyed a Po' Boy on occasion here.
I chose the daily special (Seafood Enchiladas) which our server Andrea described perfectly. She did a really amazing job too and even my son realized that her service was spot on. My enchiladas (more like mini burritos) were stuffed with shrimp and crawfish etouffee, served over dirty rice and smothered in a tequila cheese sauce. Oh my goodness! I cannot even begin to describe the flavor. And the portion was huge!
Besides great service, great atmosphere, great food and great company, what made me happy was hearing my son say he was going to have to tell his friends about Baby Kay's. Word of mouth. Pass it on!
