| - Growing up in an Asian household, packaged ramen was pretty abundant in our cupboards. All sorts of flavors, brands, containers -- it was a staple. So when friends would rave about these ramen restaurants, I shrugged it off and remained widely uninterested.
It is just now that I am realizing how awesome and authentic this comfort food can be. Winter weather = ramen weather! Definitely slurping it up and making my rounds this season, and Monta was one of these. Lol, guess who's clearly late on the ramen train!
Parking is packed. Place is tiny. Sign yourself in and be prepared to wait. Make sure that your whole party is present, or they won't seat you. It happened to us. Makes sense though when your establishment is only about five tables and a limited bar area.
I had the shoyu ramen with nori (seaweed) added...I don't have any proper adjectives to describe it for you since I am nothing but a ramen amateur, but it was good. I do know I like thick noodles in my soup and it had that. My boyfriend had the miso and it was creamier compared to mine. We both shared the regular fried rice, which was a nice contrast. I drank their green tea, iced, and it came in a can. My other friend wanted hot tea, and it too, came in the same can, but heated. Strange. Overall, good ramen!
