| - I had been planning on getting a big tattoo for awhile, but was very, very picky about the shop and the artist that I was going to commit to. I made contact with several shops around Vegas and even went to meet a couple of artists, as well, but the vibes were never right.
It was just luck that I ended up being referred by an acquaintance to Crown Electric, and I was even luckier that 'Ugly' was the artist that I was able to speak to. From the moment I walked in, I felt more welcome than I had at any other tattoo parlor and, once talking to him, Ugly made me feel super at-ease when sharing my ideas... which is super important because I HATE when people (especially tattoo artists) make you feel like your ideas are silly or dumb. To make a long story short, I chose to make an appointment with him for my first session and I am SO happy that I did!
He's an extremely talented artist, and he turned my thoughts into amazing works of art on paper. For the piece that I decided to get first, I just about fainted when I saw it on my skin. What I had seen and loved on paper was made even more beautiful on my body! Further, I feel like I got a steal; the session was 6+ hours and I paid under $1000.
It's a work in progress (see attached pictures) and will eventually be a half sleeve, which I am so excited for! I can't wait for it to be complete so I can admire it even more and, of course, so I can get my next piece. More than anything, I am so glad that I finally found a shop that feels like 'home'; there will never be a reason for me to go anywhere else for my ink.
The other artists that I met when I'd been in there were very nice, too, and, looking at their portfolios, also do work that is absolutely breathtaking. So, if you are trying to figure out where to go for your tattoo, whether it is your 1st or your 100th, I'm telling you, this is definitely the place to go. You will be so so happy that you did.
Thank you Crown Electric & Ugly! You're the best! =)
