| - we were in town for 2 days and ate here twice. both times service was efficient, friendly, and helpful with recommendations. the hype is real: get the pancakes! SO bleeping GOOD! the french toast is also noteworthy, as are the pies, omelettes, and patty melts.
the shrimp cocktail is HUGE and only $3.99. there were lots of drunk people eating shrimp at 2 am when we made our second visit, although we were starving as we hadn't yet had dinner, so opted for meals rather than appetizers.
if you come at peak meal times, expect to wait. don't expect AMAZING fine-dining quality service, this is a 24/7 diner. if you show up hungry, DO expect to be served delicious, affordable, large portions of food by busy servers who work their asses off, but are totally friendly and cool. special kudos to debbie who is the most bad-ass diner waitress of all time, down to her classic waitress uniform, pantyhose, no-nonsense attitude, and hilarious gab. we love you, debbie, and we love du-par's!
