My go to nail salon closes at 6:30 so I gave Nail Trix a whirl. The hours are convenient-it's difficult to find a salon open later than 7pm unless you want to trek to the strip so I appreciated that I could show up at 7:30 and get a mani/pedi without a problem.
The location is easy to get to-park near the men's entrance to Dillard's and walk through the store. The salon is immediately out of the store in the genera mall area-first store on the right.
My pedi was spot on. The girl (whose name unfortunately I didn't get) was thorough, took her time and did a really nice spa pedicure. My manicure was also done pretty well but other than a short nail soak and shaping, that's all that was done before polishing. No cuticle care at all. I do get regular manicures so maybe I didn't necessarily need the full monte but it still felt a little lacking. When all was said and done, it felt a bit hurried (probably because it was past closing time) and after I left I noticed a couple spots that were missing polish. Not a big deal cause I really think it wouldn't be obvious to anyone but me - still, it's a little disappointing to see spots that didn't get polished well.
The salon is very clean and the employees friendly and communicative. I notice a lot of reviews that question the sanitation of tools but I noticed that all the tools used on me were removed from a sanitizing machine and were packaged so I felt comfortable with their cleanliness.
I paid $75 for a gel mani and pedi and I felt that was a fair price for what I got. I certainly wish the polish on my nails had been done with a little more care but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and thinking that it was a bit rushed because I'd come in so late.
The polish selection was good and the pedicure chairs were the standard massage chairs used at most salons. The convenience of this shops location and hours make it a place I'll probably go to again but I'll most likely stick to a pedicure and forgo a manicure here.
