| - I might have to start buying plane tickets to get my nails done! I had really wanted to get a manicure before leaving town, but ran out of time. When I finally arrived at the airport, I realized I might be able to squeeze in some spa time. I had my doubts. I second-guessed the wiseness of getting a manicure before having to haul around my carry ons, seemed like guaranteed smudge time, but I threw caution to the wind and went for it.
To be in an airport, the vibe is quite relaxing. From the nice lady who greeted me, rolled in my baggage and hung up my coat to the spa soundtrack. I had to wait 25-minutes for my manicure, but that was actually a GOOD thing because that meant 25-minutes of bonus massage chair! Now, I have never really understood massage chairs. They are usually the equivalent of someone pounding your back with a old man's shoe in all the wrong spots, and then once every so often they shake the bejeezus out of you. These massage chairs, however, were blissful. The best.
They carry a smallish selection of OPI polishes, and even though the xpress manicure does not include all of the fanciness of heated mitts and so on, my nails look dynamite. By far, the best cut and shaped nails I have had in quite some time. And, this is the first manicure I have had in months that did not smudge. Lee did an excellent job; worth the $25. As I got ready to leave, they helped me fish out my boarding pass and get everything in order to prevent mussing my mani.
Witnessing my shiny new digits type this review is making me smile.
