I really enjoy going to this library compared to some other in Las Vegas. This is more kid friendly I feel with a lot of activities planned for younger children. The weekdays are great as they offer complimentary tutoring for your kids if needed. I also really like the effort they put into doing special events like the annual HArry Potter & Pokémon themed events. Weekly reading for the toddlers are also awesome and what's special is they have a little small theater attached where my daughters Nevada Ballet theater does its Spring Program for under 5 year old ballet classes.
My one negative comment is they have this one young male security guard on the weekends that really bother the sh$$ out of me. This one time my I went with my 3 young kids (2,5, & 7) my 2 year old threw a temper tantrum at the library. I felt really uncomfortable so I told my two other older kids we needed to leave because she's being too loud and throwing a fit. Once I almost got out of the library the security guy came after me to tell me she needs to stop crying and I got pissed because I said i know and we're leaving. Like I don't know she's being a pain. Then, when we almost got to the entrance, she threw herself down to the ground. I walked out the door in front of her so she would run after me. Anyways, the young security guard comes running after me yelling at me I can't leave my kid there. (I was about maybe a few steps in front of her and I was NOT leaving my kids there). Then when my kid just laid on the floor he then proceeds to tell me I have to grab my kid off the floor. I was so furious at the guy. Looked like he was maybe mid 20's and I'm thinking does this guy know what it's like have a 2 year old with a tantrum? And two other older kids 5 and 7 asking mommy why is that guy so mean? I even told the guy, "YOU TRY TO pull her off!" And he replied, "It's not my kid". Of course it's not your kid you d$$k!
What's really funny is on the weekdays I'll run into some other of mom friends of mine at the library and they also shared with me some of their bad experiences with the weekend security. If you're putting your shoes on the Couch, he'll come up to you to tell you to take it your shoes off. No big deal but the next time I have to go to the library on the weekend, I'll be sure to give him notes on how to raise 3 kids as a mom and get his name so I can warn future people that might put your shoe on their lounge chairs! .
