Food was excellent. Incredibly overshadowed by dis engaged service. Not rude. Just clueless. We visited on 3/11/14 for a 6pm dinner. Arrived 15 minutes early and promptly seated. Good so far (or so we thought as we later got a no show nasty gram as the hostess didn't actually check us in under our reservation.). We decided to order some cocktails and do a graze option of the small plates for dinner. When we inquired about the ingredients in one of the cocktails, she responded with a comparison to another type of drink we had never heard of. We asked for further clarity and got a blank stare. We then asked about the ingredients in the famed chopped salad and got a hushed mumbled reply. (Still wondering what she said!). Ended up ordering barrata salad and mini mushrooms app to start. Said we would then graze on the scallops and prawns and order some wine with that. Ten minutes later, everything showed up at our table. All at once. Cocktails, apps, grazing dishes! (And no extra plates?????). We would think that a place like this would get the concept of pacing a meal. Instead, we were stuck having pre dinner cocktails, apps, and entrees all on our table at once! AND we hadn't ordered our wine yet! Start to finish, dinner would have taken less time than a visit to a burger joint if we had consumed at the pace they served!
The food was excellent. Nice portions with plenty to share. Too bad temp suffered on the dishes from sitting given how they were all dropped at the table simultaneously. Wine list was likely good had we had some time to consider an appropriate pairing. Cocktails were tasty and creative (as mid and post dinner). Service was lacking in attentiveness and just plain basics for a restaurant like this. They could do so much better!
