I feel like I have been duped by Moon Valley. I went during the summer 1/2 price sale ad that I saw in the paper. Didn't realize they have this "sale" year-round and that the prices are still too inflated. In addition, the sales people work on commission and will say whatever it takes to make a sale, including "There is no bad time to plant a tree." Well, tell that to my very stressed Bradford pear tree that lost all of its brown leaves and made a huge mess the first month. But not only that: BEWARE the "free planting" does NOT INCLUDE removal of dirt dug out for the tree or irrigation! So you're on your own to haul away the dirt and to figure out how to irrigate the tree, unless you pay the planters under the table cash that you did not intend to spend on the project. And the $300 extra warranty for 1 year: it's only valid if the tree totally dies, according to my landscaper. My sales guy didn't tell me any of this. He had me initial a whole bunch of papers, but they don't actually say this even if you do sit down and read them, I wish that I had gone to Star Nursery, where they would have had a lower price to start with according to my landscaper.
