  • This property was a pleasant surprise in N. Scottsdale. We had never stayed at a Cambria hotel before and just learned that this is Choice Hotels new upscale brand of Boutique Hotel. This hotel is located across the street from the large Desert Ridge shopping mall. It is located behind a Holiday Inn on highway 101. Theresa did a fine job of checking us in. Later we found that we had been assigned a suite on the fourth floor. This large three room suite was furnished in a contemporary modern decor with clean and simple styling. Instead of carpet they have laminated wood flooring with oriental area rugs. There is an internal Bluetooth hotspot in every room along with strong easily accessable WiFi. All appliances like the refrigerator and microwave are built in under the large counter with wet bar and a Keurig coffee machine. The walkin shower is large enough for two. The sink area in the bath is all the room you need and the towels are plush and fluffy. The master bedroom has its own thermostat and there is another one in the living area. The bed is very comfortable and the pillows are thick and plush. The restaurant offers a big buffet style breakfast with two different scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and tasty assorted pastry. The fitness center is fully equipped with Life Fitness machines and a full complement of free weights. It is quiet here and it feels as if you are isolated in your own condo. We had an amazing encounter with Elizabeth the housekeeping manager. There was a workman replacing the window shade cord in our suite. She immediately gathered up five housekeepers to clean another suite for us. Elizabeth knows what great service is. The only downer is the highway noise so a rear facing room is more desirable.
