| - I really enjoy this gym. I took away one star (I wish you could do a half, I'd say 4.5) as there could be some improvements, obviously, but I don't think any of the changes or "complaints" I have are anything I wouldn't find anywhere I went. There's machines and equipment down semi-frequently, but it's maybe one or two of all the treadmills having an issue or one of the stair masters, and then maybe one of the weight machines are taking longer than you'd hope to be repaired. It happens. Everything is being used constantly so it's expected. They have a lot of free weights, several of each cardio machine, a variety of weight machines, and diversity with classes. I'd love to recommend maybe getting a hip thruster or a vertical climbing machine when the opportunity presents itself to add new stuff.
Sometimes there's paper or something around the bathroom but you can't help that some people just lack manners and I always see the staff coming in and checking the stalls and cleaning off the counters. 99% of the time the front desk staff is cheerful and welcoming- I always go out of my way to say hi and have a great day and it's reciprocated. I've never had them be rude, just some people are more personable than others and that's fine.
I'm a stay at home mom and the gym is my "me" time. My two and a half year old LOVES the daycare. I have nothing but good things to say about the child care staff and appreciate the care they provide for my son and the friendly conversations they carry on with me during drop offs and pick ups. I can tell that they genuinely enjoy my kid and that he genuinely enjoys them, which means I can work out worry free and as a bonus, my kid gets socialization with kids of all ages as well as others adults (since he isn't school aged yet).
Overall, especially for the price point, Mountainside is a great gym. I have a lot more positive things to say about it than negative.
