Went to the Walgreens Pharmacy the other day to get some pricing so that I could consider moving all of our families prescription business there.
I was told that they couldn't get me any drug pricing until after I transferred my prescription. After being told that I'd just like a cash price to allow for comparison purposes.
They said that doing so just wasn't there policy. I can only think that their prices must be excessive since there's no other reason for failure to share pricing that I can think of at this time.
Was able to get pricing online from Costco, Sam's club and WalMart.
I'd urge anyone who needs to be concerned about how much they spend on healthcare to compare drug prices before continuing to overpay any provider who charges too much.
Run away healthcare costs are endemic in this society. I believe that the lack of price transparency in one major contribution factor in that situation. It's truly disappointing that Walgreens doesn't take what I consider to be a more customer service related approach.
