| - I was a member at Sam's club for 2 years. It was great at first, seeing as I had never had a membership to a big box/warehouse grocery store club. I don't have a huge family, but I would go here for all of my dry goods and shop their seasonal items. The store itself is quite large and they have vision, hearing, photo, and pharmacy services. Samples on the weekends, which we always enjoyed and even got some tasty recipes out of it.
The pricing at the pharmacy wasn't amazing, some medications were cheaper OTC vs buying it as a prescription. Prices are competitive regarding household items and groceries. Gas is always cheaper than the regular gas station. Customer service is friendly, and it is usually very busy lines on the weekends. Their food court is average, nothing impressive. I tried their pizza and a hot dog once, and I was good after that. The condiment station and sitting area was dirty and needed to be stocked. During the 2 years I was a member, that was my first and LAST experience at the food court.
Yearly membership renewal was $45 for us and we paid extra for the additional member rewards, which they pitched to me in line with a bunch of people behind me, so I said yes, but to this day I still don't comprehend what the benefits are lol. This year we decided not to renew since there was a Groupon for Costco membership that I basically paid $5 for, and it was also closer to our house. So far, I am preferring the latter warehouse club. I think it is worth it if you live close by and have a large family.
