  • I really was impressed with the Gibson House WHAT IT IS The Gibson house is basically the house where the Gibson family resided. They lived in the Willowdale area. They had 7 children. The Father was a Land surveyer and married his cousin (I think 2nd cousin) TOURS They run tours at regular intervals during the day and depending on how many visitors show up. We were lucky enough to have a tour to ourselves (my family). The tour is about 45 minutes depending on how many questions you have for the tour guide. KID ZONE While people wait for tours, there is a kid zone and a mini gallery where kids can learn play with puzzles, weave yarn, draw pictures etc. The gallery is meant for adults where you can learn a little bit about the history of the Gibson Family. WHAT I LIKED 1. They had a free tasting of minced meat tarts, ginger bread cookies and apple cider. They made them fresh at the location and baked them using the heat from their wood fire.(authentic!) 2. I learned that christmas trees originated from Germany and was brought to england by kind albert (who was german) and then was widespread around the world. 3. the house was magnificient and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. COST Regular admission Adults: $5.48 Seniors (65 +): $3.10 Youth (13-18 yrs.): $3.10 Children (2-12 yrs.): $2.62
