  • Just visited the Heard today, and for it's expansive ground size I expected a lot more. Apparently it is a private collection mostly from Mr and Mrs. Heard's travels from the early 20th century. Therefore there is little to experience here. I thought they could've done a better job on collecting the different types of pottery, dividing the rooms between Havasupai, Navajo and Pima indians that inhabit the southwest. Dissapointing to say the least. Except for one special area upstairs, that was an exhibit of the forcible integration of the Native-American indians into boarding schools of which Indian School Park is a great example. It was very thought out with different media as testament to this dark period of our early modern history. Very good indeed. For that and it's mission style architecture I guess this place was worth my $12.00.
