  • Had a run-in with the She-witch, Debbie, at the front desk. Something to know about Debbie...she doesn't like when you call her out on her bullish!t...Debbie likes to bark at customers and talk down to them and tell them how rude they are (knowing from personal experience). I had extended my stay at the hotel for 2 extra nights and needed to "renew" my key card for my room. I went into the office to do so and this is where I encountered the shrew herself. I informed her there were two room keys...mine and one for the other person who was in the room with me, who happened to be the one who paid for the room for the duration of our stay. I informed her that that person was on their way into the office right then to renew their key as well. She said OK and I was on my way out. Well, I get a call from the other person who was staying with me to tell me Debbie was refusing to renew his room key...telling him she has no record of him being in the room. He tells me that Debbie is denying him room access and that he already informed her it was HIS credit card/ID info they had on file for the room. She claimed she has no access to the file (WHAT?). We hadn't had any issues before now, even when our room keys weren't working the night before and the guy at the front desk fixed them with no questions asked, no ID, nothing. Anyway, back to little miss ray of sunshine, Debbie... I called the front desk and guess who answered?? DEBBIE! I explained to her "You're the one who JUST renewed my key card and I LITERALLY just told you he (I gave her the name of the person staying in my room) was coming in to renew his room key. What I find funny is that you guys have all his credit card and ID info on file but yet you won't renew his key...so he's good enough to take money from but you won't give him access to what he's paying for..." To make a long story short, she didn't like that I called her out and I got hung up on AND she told the other person that HE was rude and that I was also a very rude person. I didn't realize it was Marriott protocol to call paying guests rude people just because we refuse to let some minimum wage making employee at the front desk talk down to us. Needless to say, I called back to get her manager's name...Jesus, btw, and left him a message and informed him I was contacting corporate and also leaving negative reviews on the outlet I used to book the hotel along with here on Yelp. Honestly, Debbie shouldn't be working with the public. She's rude, condescending and VERY abrasive...traits that should not be in the hospitality field.
