  • Costco Wholesale 10000 W. McDowell Road Avondale, AZ 85392-4803 This Costco has a very unethical, unfair, and unprofessional working environment. A warning to all future applicants, if you don't have a friend or relative who is already a permanent employee at this Costco, you will have to work twice as hard at this Costco before they even consider offering you a permanent position (compared to another temporary/seasonal co-workers who do have a friend or family member that already has a permanent position at Costco). If your someone that likes to keep to yourself and mind your own business and just go to work to work, that will not fly at this Costco, if you decide to not be part of the inner circles that are created or inner circles that already exist when you start working here, that will be an automatic disqualification from being offered a permanent position at this Costco location. Beware of reporting (at your own risk) any type of injury, abuse, behavior, or unfairness, as this to will mark you as an outcast and will be frowned upon for it, you will be automatically disqualified from being offered a permanent position as well. Another thing to keep in mind, if you want this Costco to offer you a permanent position, you will have to brown-nose a lot, and then some, to both managers and other co-workers (to the co-workers who already have a permanent position with this Costco), if you do not do this, your chances of being offered a permanent job at this Costco will be low, but not impossible, you will just have to work extra harder than everyone else. And last but not least, do not trust anyone at this Costco, and I repeat, do not trust anyone at this Costco, there are a few people at this Costco that are genuine whom you can trust and are truthful, but unfortunately, for the most part, most of the managers and workers at this Costco you cannot trust, most of them are not looking out for your better interest, most of the managers and workers here are two-faced, they will not tell you straight forward how things really work/are and will just lie to your face, most of the managers at this location will tell you one thing, but their actions, decisions, and words (talks) that they have with other people say other than what they told/tell you, my advice to future applicants is to just apply at other Costco's in the valley, located in better neighborhoods, avoid this Costco as an option for employment, as most likely you will just be wasting your time and opportunity to be employed by Costco permanently, it is better to just take your chances at a different Costco location, but if you have no other choice or just want to apply at this location anyways, keep in mind everything I said, so that you may increase your chances of being offered a permanent position at this location, and if you have anything to report (injury, abuse, behavior, unfairness, etc), I recommend you just take it straight up to Corporate (if you end up working at this location). Costco is a very but very awesome/good company, no other place will offer you $11.50 (in Arizona) an hour starting off in this line of work, their benefits are super, and the opportunities to grow within the company is unmatched (second to none compared to other companies), this is why very few people ever leave/quit their Costco jobs and this is one of the reasons why it is so hard to get a permanent position at Costco stores as is, unfortunately, like in any type of job/company, there are people (managers and workers) who give companies like this a bad name, and just because this Costco is one of them, that does not mean all other Costco's or that the company Costco in general are/is the same way, that's pretty much all I had/have to say about this place. May you people have better luck if you apply at this location, and if you do not get offered a permanent position at this location or any other, don't quit, be persistent, do not stop trying to be part of the Costco family, if that is something that you really want, thank you all for your time, patience, and interest in what I had to say. And also be careful with this Costco location because the managers at this store will also lie to the other Costco locations to keep you from getting a job with any other Costco. Pros: Salary, "Benefits", Customer Service Opportunity, Pay Raises, Promotion Opportunities. Cons: Poor Management-Employee Relations, Unethical Practices, Favoritism, Unfair Practices, Conflicting Interests. Advice to Management (Miguel Sandoval, Scott Dye, and Michael Bennet): Treat Employees the way that is outlined and suggested in your OWN handbook. Look out for your "subordinates" instead of yourself and your "favorites".
