| - I have bit my tongue on this one for a while, but it is JULY and I am still angry.
Last Fall (November 2008) I started to plan a Bachelorette night for my soon to be sister-in-law. Unlike a lot of the parties that go on, My sister in law is a medical professional and quite conservative. I was looking to have classy evening that she would appreciate.
I was referred to a now embarrassed concierge friend of mine to Mike and USA Limos. We spoke of my plans and since I was booking so early, Mike explained to me that getting the car and atmosphere that we desired would be no problem.
I booked a limo that was a Chrysler 300 in lieu of a more party-like "bus" that the company offered. Nice vehicles, but definitely not what we wanted. I was quite clear about this. I was told that when we were 48 hours out, we would have a phone confirmation and we would be given our driver's name, etc.
I communicated to Mike via email for all of this, and he was helpful.
When the day of the event came, I hadn't heard anything. I called and left a message and at 11am (8 hour prior) I did get the phone call confirmation and the name of a driver. A little close, but still no problem,
Fast forward to 40 minutes prior to the event. I get a call from my assistant at work. I am lucky I even answered, as I was "off the grid" for this planned in advance weekend. Finally, I answered him and he said that a driver was calling the office for me (HELLO, it is 6pm on a Saturday) and he was lost.
I called the gentleman back. He didn't know where the pick up point was located. He didn't know of my preparation and itinerary that I had sent to Mike. I was starting from scratch. This also wasn't the gentleman whose name I was given prior and he informed me that he was driving a "blinged out" Escalade.
Nice....
Pick up was set for 645pm in North Scottsdale. He would have been there on time had he any clue where are resort was. He arrived 10 minutes late and made me stand outside the LIMO while my girlfriends waited to fill out the payment information (even though I had emailed all of this and a signature to Mike). I was mortified and upset that were going to be late.
The limo was way to ghetto fabulous. Mirrors on the ceiling, neon accents... ugh. It was the EXACT thing I asked NOT to have.
I was promised Champagne for the ride. There was none. When I pointed it out to the driver, he never took the time away from us to get some.
Long Story short.... We made the best of it as gals..
When I emailed Mike the next day to ask the important questions (Why was I not contacted personally by you of the changes, how are you going to compensate me for this mistake, etc) Mike wrote me back late from his iPhone. His language and spelling made me think that maybe he was intoxicated. His email to me basically told me to go F**K myself. He said that there was car trouble and the Navigator was an "upgrade." He said that 10 minutes late "wasn't late" (I'd like to see this YAYHOO catch a train on a timetable"
I have worked in the hospitality industry for years. I would NEVER recommend these people. I have spread the word to my connections so that no one has the experience that I had. This was almost $1000 of my money. It's a shame, too. All it would have taken was an "I'm sorry" card and a $7 bottle of Korbel. What a bad way to run a business.
