| - Big box home improvement store, what else can you say? Prices are higher, and quality is somewhat better than Menards as a whole. The outdoor plant section is a yearly pilgrimage for us, picking through the decent selection of herbs and vegetables and impressive floral offerings.
No question, you are going to pay more here, but the big deal here is you can find what you are looking for with quality selection as opposed to Menards where you wander and the selection is not always high quality. It is sometimes difficult to find someone who has knowledge in the area you are needing, however I always find the tool specialist to be competent and helpful. And it is cheaper oftentimes than local True Value or other smaller stores. It is always a trade off, as with any big box retailer.
Our biggest success here was our window treatments, which we caught on sale and had free installation. It was quick, easy and thorough, with all questions answered and done in a timely manner. Our carpet took longer than expected to get in, but once it was we had a good experience otherwise as well.
I feel it pales slightly in comparison to Lowe's, though it is better than the drive to Janesville.
