It was beautifully landscaped and blended in well to the desert setting. I had stayed at this hotel years ago after college when I believe it was called the Awa'teuke Hotel. It had a great, large banquet room where I attended a college reunion recently. The charm and also the problem of this hotel is that it looked like it did in college but hadn't had the upgrades it needed to be a special, more memorable hotel. Liked the pool and the jacuzzi was nice except a bit small. Restaurant was ok and the bar had some good happy hour specials. The main problem with the Doubletree was the plumbing never working and the toilet was overflowing. Complained many times to the front desk but it never got fixed. The fixtures, room decorations, restaurant and bar decorations all need an upgrade. The rooms were a bit small and the shower same. Expected a bit more. Ok hotel and decent prices but be aware of the plumbing problems.
