I was thrilled when Whole Foods opened in Markham a few years back. It meant that I didn't have to drive down to Yorkville to figure out where to park to get tiramisu or whatever else I felt like. This location is a ten-minute drive from where I live.
There is plenty of parking. I have never had any problems finding a spot, even when it can get crazy before Christmas.
I tend to get soy and almond nog from Whole Foods just before Christmas and New Year's Day. I tend to be borderline lactose-intolerant. Some dairy products are okay. Regular eggnog for me is not! This past Christmas, I bought three bottles of almond nog. I am nearly done my last one. I love it so much!
Anyway, I love how this store accommodates your dietary lifestyle. It has many lactose-free products for me, from ice cream to cottage cheese. There are tons of items that open my eyes up and get me excited.
A while back, the store had a number of tasting stands. I tried the kale chips that tasted like sour cream. They were so good and did not have any dairy. I immediately bought a bag.
The store has hot foods. You can sit down and eat there. It also has prepared sandwiches and salads, which have saved me when I end up being too tired to figure out what to bring to the office for lunch the following day.
The only downside is that I tend to buy a few items and end up paying $60 or so. You do pay more for healthier, unique options. However, I still find that it's worth it, especially when it comes to soy and almond nog.
