Lulu's will always have a special place in my heart. It's where my wife and I went for our first date in college, and we've been there more times than I could possibly guess.
The portions are generous, service has always been very good, and the food comes out very fast even on the busiest of nights. But it seems like in recent years the typical college student crowd has drifted away. The food is as good as ever, if not better, but some recent changes to the menu have taken away my favorite dishes. The change from thin sliced beef to ground beef in the Chow Fun Beef broke my heart. But my wife tried substituting pork in the dish, and it was actually even better than the original beef. Their pad thai is my go-to.
We've probably been here 100+ times over the years, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience. It's a great spot for an affordable, filling meal. If you're looking for an authentic Asian cuisine, there are certainly better options out there. Losing some menu favorites was disappointing, and the remaining menu is starting to feel somewhat dated to early 00's Asian with a twist. But Lulu's continues to have all of the charm and strong flavors that have made it a favorite for years.
