I went to Dr Allen wanting to verify if the symptoms I was having were from low thyroid/hormones and if they needed correcting. Blood work was done, he said I would feel better once I began taking prescribed meds. Slowly my weight & bp began to rise. I would bring this up each time I saw him and he said it would stop - that sometimes it took a few months to determine correct level dosing. Eventually I was keeping track of the amount of time he spent in room. It always took less time for my vitals than he spent in room with me. Once as I left they gave me someone else's paperwork (same first name) for blood work - with ALL personal info on it. I tried calling & leaving msgs to get correct paperwork, but no response. Finally spoke to someone, explained the issue & they said they didn't return my call due to their phones were down. Shortly after that I received a message on my phone from "Lori" leaving her name & saying regarding stress test then a call from "Lori" at his office saying I needed to set up a stress test. I asked if I could call back to set it up. I called a week later, person answering phone said, "hello, this is Lori" I told her I was calling to set up the test and she said she had no idea what I was talking about. I even took a friend with me for their opinion early on - at first they liked him, then thought he was just trying to make money. I asked for copies of blood work results and looked up normal levels online. Mine were fine. I probably needed a stress test due to their office. I went to him for about 8 months. Gave him plenty of time to see if meds worked or if he would show more interest in my well-being. Even the outside pharmacy he used spoke with me more than he did. Finally, I quit going, weened myself off everything he prescribed -- it was ridiculous the way they ignored my health issues. Please find another person that is worthy of the title "Doctor" because he is not.
