This is a great local zoo to visit. Sorry Phoenix Zoo, but this one really offers so much more. I'm not even sure how many acres they are on, but plan on a lot of walking. It is wheelchair and stroller friendly. They have so many different animals and even a nursery where you can view various babies that are born there. They have an incredible variety of monkeys and birds. They even have a good sized aquarium.
Even on a warm day there is lots of shaded spots to hang out and indoor exhibits where you can cool off for a moment. They have many restrooms and snack bars throughout the park as well.
Check the prices before you go and realize all that is offered in your admission. Check the schedule as they have different encounters throughout the day. You should either bring some quarters with you or you can get them there as they have different exhibits where you can purchase pet food for .50 cents and feed the animals. The giraffes are always fun to feed. The price of admission can really go up as they have various rides throughout the park that are an additional fee. Some are cash only. Adults are around $39.00. You could easily spend 5 plus hours with snack breaks.
We would definitely recommend this zoo and have actually been there 3 times ourselves.
