There are only a few times in life when you leave a place and feel like you couldn't possibly be more satisfied. Waffalonia in Squirrel Hill is one of those places. You could walk past this place many times and never notice the skinny brown building that houses the best waffles in the city.
But the moment you step through that door you know you made a good decision. The smell alone is worth the trip but the moment that sugar waffle topped with Nutella ice cream, dripping chocolate syrup, and drowning in whipped cream hits your mouth all is right with the world.
Served on a paper plate at "tables" that are nothing more than 2x4s stuck to a wall Waffalonia embraces the hole in the wall charm so sought after by foodies and Hipsters alike making Murray Ave a prime location for this shop.
It's hard to best a date night starting at one of the many ethnic restauraunts just down the street and ending it in the littlest slice of Belgium the city has to offer.
The best part of course is you'll leave spending under $6 I and feel like you got a lot more for what you paid.
