Why do most people hate the car buying process? It's got to be because of dealerships like this.
I'm considering a certified pre-owned Honda Pilot. Bonnie greeted me. Nice person. Mentioned I wanted to test drive it, because I never have. Starts to gather my personal information, cell phone number, email address, tries to get information out of me about my trade, target payment, was I going to trade or finance, what I consider new with all the wonderful incentives they have going on... Etc. Got the manager involved. Walked away without giving back my drivers license The whole song and dance.
Through the whole process, I mentioned several times that all I really would like to do is test drive the car to see if I even like it in the first place. Finally they started pushing me towards beginning negotiations on a brand new one. Unbelievable. All I wanted to do was test drive it, and then you could have had a chance to earn my business.
Went down the street to test drive a Toyota. Super easy. I will consider giving them my business, but will not go to this Honda dealership ever again.
UPDATE: Went to Auto Nation Chandler Honda. Was test driving a perfect used Pilot in a matter of minutes. Reviewing deals within an hour. SO much better of an experience than Showcase. I love my new Honda Pilot. Showcase its too bad you had to try to hard sell me when all I wanted was a test drive.
