Vegan review: The downtown location of Cornish Pasty has much to offer vegans and vegetarians! The location itself is awesome. You can pick between three levels (basement, main floor and loft) and the patio - which is a rare treat in Phoenix. It's the perfect dark, cool spot to beat the summer heat.
They have a vast array of vegetarian pasty options and always have up to four vegan options on hand. I've had the vegan southwestern pasty before and enjoyed it, but had a hard time believing it was vegan! They used a mock chicken - probably Gardein - and vegan cheese. However, the vindaloo is my favorite of the vegan options. The first time I had it, it was almost too spicy for me (which is rare) but my second try had the perfect amount of heat. It was a little heavy on the potatoes, and they could have been cooked more, but it was filling and delicious. The best part is always the crust!
Service is fast and efficient - no issues. And the location is close to everything. So if you need a cool place to eat and drink in downtown Phoenix, don't overlook Cornish Pasty!
