| - I recently stayed at the M Resort Spa Casino for a family wedding weekend. First of all, free parking and valet, which is currently the norm in the Las Vegas area but that will soon change with the MGM properties. It was nice to be able to pull up to the valet, unload our luggage, and hand the keys to someone without worrying about it. The front desk is to the left of the entrance and our front desk clerk was welcoming. After handing over ID and a credit card, we were given our room keys and instructed that the card would power the room so one of them would need to be in the slot for the electricity to work. I love green hotels! The door was a bit hard to open, you really have to put your weight onto the handle. At first, we thought our card hadn't been activated but the light turned green. It was just hard to open. My boyfriend had to do it for me; I guess I need to do some more arm exercises or something.
The room was really spacious and clean. We had the "mountain view" aka the cheap view, but we had a nice tub with separate toilet area, two sinks, enclosed shower, flat screen TV, bathroom mirror TV and plenty of room to spread out in after a long drive into the desert. The blackout shades were a nice touch, but ours didn't open. The king sized bed was nice and comfortable. There were two areas to hang up clothes as well as drawers to unpack into. The bar and mini fridge was full of expensive drinks and snacks that we didn't touch. We brought our own water and went out for food.
They had a "Go Green" tag that if you put on your door, the housekeeping team would skip cleaning your room and give you a $5 coupon to use in the resort on spa services, food or drink. There was a BOGO coupon for the Hostile Grape wine bar but when we called to inquire about hours, we were informed that it was closed all weekend for a private event (thanks a lot Remini Sport). The complimentary toiletries were from Spa Mio in the Eucalyptus Tangerine scent but it was more eucalyptus than tangerine. The soap dish was completely flat so it allowed the wet soap to completely bond with it, making removal challenging. I really liked the extra vanity stool in the bathroom which added to the comfort of the guests. Instead of complimentary water, they gave us one complimentary lip balm. They don't charge resort fees which is nice but that also means that if you want to use the fitness center or spa amenities, you pay $15/day. If you book a spa appointment, then they waive the $15 usage fee. You pay for what you use and I know some folks don't use certain amenities, but I've never had to pay to use a hotel gym before.
Everything aside, it's easily one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in awhile. There wasn't too much sound that carried over from outside or next door to us but if you listened closely, you could hear it, otherwise the rooms were quiet. I enjoyed my stay at the M Resort and would consider staying there again. 4.5 stars.
