  • My son in law took his 2002 Nissan Sentra in for an oil change, rotation, and safety check. He was presented with an estimate for $1992.62 for recommended repairs that were not needed. He did need front brake pads and resurface the front rotors. Wilhelm wanted to replace the rotors saying they were under specs. They also recommended flushing the brake fluid since they were doing brakes. According to MAP Standards (Motorist Assurance Program) The brake fluid should been tested with a test dip strip and the results annotated along with the strip itself for the customer to see. I took the vehicle to another reputable shop and they confirmed that the brake fluid tested almost perfect and that the brake rotors had over well over the minimum specs enough to machine and after machining still well over minimum specs. Wilhelm here in Goodyear wanted $302.00 to do just the front brake job and rotors. I paid $119.99 at the other reputable shop. They also wanted $110.00 to replace 2 battery terminal ends where at the other shop it was $29.99. Wilhelm said that the vehicle had 3 broken/sagged eng/transmission mounts when in fact they were perfectly normal according to the other shop. Wilhelm also stated when the AC thermometer test was done it read 60 degrees only and said the suction hose was leaking. The other shop checked the temp and it actually was cooling to 43 degrees and they found no leak present.. Wilhelm did find a dirty not real bad air filter which they wanted $8.95 and the other shop charged me $4.99 So Wilhelm's estimate of $1992.62 ended up being in reality $197.63 with shop supplies and tax. So I would advise people to shop around before being ripped off by the Goodyear/EMR Wilhelm Automotive repair facility... I think they believe since most of us live in EMR that we are all rich suckers and will pay anything they say.....
